What we collect
When you submit an outage report we store the postal code area, optional place name, report type (outage / restored), an optional short note and the time. To prevent spam we store a one-way hash derived from your IP address and browser; we do not store the raw IP address alongside reports.
Location
If you use “Use my location”, your browser shares approximate coordinates only to find the nearest postal code area. Coordinates are not stored.
Phone numbers and email
If you add your phone number to a comment or subscribe to email alerts, we store it privately and use it only for outage updates for your area, with your consent. It is never shown on the website or sold. To have it deleted, contact us.
Cookies and analytics
We may use essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. Update this section to reflect the services you actually use and your obligations under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and, in Quebec, Law 25).
Retention
Reports are automatically deleted after 180 days.
